Paul Ranson

Paul Ranson (1864–1909) was a French Post-Impressionist and a founding member of Les Nabis, the avant-garde group inspired by Gauguin's Pont-Aven aesthetic. His decorative, symbolist works fused mystical imagery with sinuous Art Nouveau line, and the Académie Ranson, founded the year of his death, became a lasting influence on early-20th-century French painting.
