Pierre-Auguste Cot

Pierre-Auguste Cot (1837–1883) was a French academic painter and pupil of Léon Cogniet, Alexandre Cabanel, and William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Best known for the iconic Salon paintings "The Storm" (1880) and "Springtime" (1873), both held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, his idealized depictions of young love became among the most reproduced images of late-19th-century French academic painting. Master Canvas Art offers 2 hand-painted oil reproductions of Pierre-Auguste Cot's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
