Samuel Colman

Samuel Colman (1832–1920) was an American painter and interior designer best remembered for Hudson River landscapes. Born in Portland, Maine, Colman briefly studied under Hudson River School painter Asher Durand, developing romantic sensibility. Storm King on the Hudson (1866) remains an iconic movement image in the Smithsonian. Founding president of the American Watercolor Society (1867–1871), he later collaborated with Louis Comfort Tiffany on interiors. Master Canvas Art offers 1 hand-painted oil reproduction of Samuel Colman's work.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
