Sir Joshua Reynolds

Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723–1792) was an English portrait painter of the Grand Manner and founder-president of the Royal Academy of Arts. His masterful depictions of aristocratic and prominent figures established him as the leading portraitist of 18th-century society. He was knighted in 1769.
