Walter Howell Deverell

Walter Howell Deverell (1827–1854) was an American-born British artist closely associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, whose promising career was cut short by his death at twenty-six from Bright's disease. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Deverell trained under Edward Poynter at the Royal Academy Schools, befriending Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais, and William Holman Hunt. Though offered PRB membership, he 'discovered' Elizabeth Siddal in 1849, the Pre-Raphaelites' most important model.

Painted by hand. Not printed.

Trained oil painters

Every canvas is painted by hand by a trained oil artist — no prints, no machine finishing. Each piece carries real brushwork, real texture, real layers.

Museum-grade pigment matching

We mix each pigment against high-resolution museum references. The greens of Monet, the gold of Klimt, the blues of Van Gogh — matched, not approximated.

Layered, cured, built to last

Oil paint is built in layers and allowed to dry between them — the way the originals were made. The result is a canvas with depth, weight, and decades of life.
