Zedekiah Belknap (1781–1858) was an American folk art painter known for folk portraits of common citizens, faces with heavy outlines and dark backgrounds. Itinerant American portraitist; studied divinity at Dartmouth 1807, then pursued preaching and painting; traveled Vermont/New Hampshire/Massachusetts producing ~200 commissioned portraits; signature rounded roses.
